Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to my FAQ! Here you’ll find honest answers to the most common questions about my work, process, and creative philosophy. Whether you’re curious about how things are made, what inspires my choices, or just want to know how to get in touch, I hope this section gives you a better idea of what I do and why I do it the way I do. If something isn’t covered here, feel free to ask!

How do you create your patches?

Some I start with ChatGPT to help as a starting point, like artist inspired patches. But others is just experimenting until it feels right.

Why don’t you just use the Multi-Effects Processor?

I have always been a fan of stompboxes. I have gone through so many over the years that I just love having them lined up. Many options that give their unique effect. The Multi-Effects processor was something I never liked initially, I avoided them for years. One day i made an impulse purchase of a Boss GT-3, I found it provided that extra energy to my sound so I started to shape my stompboxes around it. I had that unit for about 10 years and went for an upgrade and moved to the Valeton GP200x. After tweaking around with this beast, I discovered its power is way beyond what I thought a Multi-Effects processor was capable of. And when I started to use the FX Loop I found it can do even more. So instead of just sticking to 1 product, I decided to experiment because this gave me freedom to keep creating more and more and more. That’s what it all boils down to for me, the ability to expand further than a single processor.

What is your favourite pedal?

It would have to be my longest and oldest pedal. The Digitech Grunge. I have had that pedal for 20 years, it has never failed me. I have used so many different types of distortion pedals but no matter how many I sell or change up, I stick to that one because it was the first pedal i ever bought when I started learning to play.

What got you into pedals?

It started like any other hobby, start with one, then get another, then another and it just kept growing. As my playing improved, I wanted to discover more of what my favourite artists were doing. To do that, I needed more pedals. Over the years I have changed over so many, using a huge range of brands from Boss, Digitech, Line 6, Donner, Morley, Behringer and many others.

Is there a pedal you regret getting rid of?

Yes, the Line 6 Delay. I had that during my early days of playing and before I understood signal chains. So when I put it before the distortion, I thought it wasn't that great of a pedal. But I was wrong. I ended up selling it but looking back I wish I didn’t.

Are you sponsored by anyone?

No. I am not sponsored by any company or business

Why did you start all this?

I saw some ask on a Facebook group about Valeton tips, patches and guides and thought I would use what I know to help others. If it only reaches one person then that is more than enough. It’s all about helping others grow, music should be shared.

Your patches don’t work with my gear.

The patches I create have been tailored to my amp, guitar and surroundings. You will still need to tweak them to fit your equipment. And if you’re playing live you will still need to adjust to fit your area.
